Dekka has no passwords. You sign in with a link sent to your email, with GitHub or Google, or with a passkey, and every method leads to the same account.

## Sign in with an email link

Enter your email address on the sign-in page and open the link Dekka sends. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes. If no account uses that address yet, the same link creates one, with your own organisation on the Free plan.

## Sign in with GitHub or Google

Choose **GitHub** or **Google** on the sign-in page. If the account you sign in with is already linked to Dekka, you're signed in to that Dekka account, and otherwise Dekka links it to the account with the same verified email address or creates a new one. To link GitHub or Google to an account you already have, open **Settings**, then **Account**, and choose **Connect** next to it.

GitHub sign-in needs a verified primary email address on your GitHub account, because that's the address Dekka matches or creates an account with. Without one, sign-in stops with `github_email_unverified`, so sign in with an email link instead and then connect GitHub from **Settings**, then **Account**. Once it's connected, GitHub signs you in whether or not the address is verified.

If GitHub sign-in is turned off, choosing **GitHub** brings you back to the sign-in page with `github_unavailable`, and an email link, Google or a passkey still works.

## Add a passkey

A passkey lets you sign in with your device's fingerprint, face or PIN without waiting for an email. Dekka offers to add one after you first sign in, and you can add or remove passkeys at any time under **Settings**, then **Account**. Next time, choose **Sign in with a passkey**.

## Sign out other devices

The **Account** settings list every session that's signed in, with its browser and address. Choose **Sign out** next to one, or **Sign out other sessions** to keep only the device you're using. A session ends after three days without use, and after 30 days in any case.
